Card of Author - " Alfredo Noval " " Alfredo Noval is a naturalistic veteran, ornithologist and conservative. Their books on birds, animals and the Nature of their native Asturias, always are welcomed warmly by an ample hearing: Libro of the Iberian Fauna, Birds, 6 vol. (1974): Birds of Prey (1975); The Asturian Wild Fauna (1976); Nature and Life in the Tips of Europe, collaboration, (1981); Zoology of Vertebrates (1982); Asturias, Clouds and Forests (1983); Guide of the Birds of Asturias, first editing, (1986). He comprised of the team of European ornithologists who collaborated in the writing of the Handbook of the Birds of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, BWP, (1977-1994). Now, in this new book, Alfredo Noval reune a great information with data of its own experience observing birds in many places of the Asturian countryside. Its liking to the study of the birds and its surroundings allow him to enjoy an acute observation on migratory distribution, populations, movements and conduct, giving to each species a brief one, but guessed right estatus. An ample section of photographies and drawings illustrates many of the described birds. In addition, an extensive bibliography has the book and each species takes to its name and estatus in Castilian, Asturian, English, French and German. The book is of great interest for all the observers of birds in Asturias and the north of Spain, but it will be of special value, in addition, for many thousands of visitors of other Spanish regions and of the foreigner." | |
